I initially discovered Matt Gourley when listening to the James Bonding podcast on The Nerdist network, where Matt Mira and Matt Gourley sit with guests to review each Bond film. It’s super fun, and you should check it out. However, I do not want to talk about that show at the moment. I want to talk about Gourley’s other podcast, I Was There Too.

In each episode Gourley interviews guests who have played a minor(ish) or background role in a well known film or series of films. While everyone else strives for exclusive interviews with the stars, Gourley is more interested in speaking with the working actors and actresses of Hollywood.

He delves into the actors’ backgrounds and paths toward the entertainment field then moves into the film at hand. You’re often treated to some really fun stories about life on the set, interactions with the stars, strange and eccentric behaviors of your favorite directors, and the often odd ways the Hollywood machine tends to move.

If you are in any way interested in movie making or acting, I highly recommend you check this one out.

I Was There Too is available on Earwolf and iTunes.
