In which Adrien Brody is the train conductor for the H&M Lines Winter Express!
EEEEEK! Wide camera angles, long single takes that move from compartment to compartment. The sound of slamming doors, interesting faces, and more all come together to celebrate *sigh* Christmas, Wes Anderson style of course.
Due to weather conditions, Brody’s Conductor Ralph makes an impromptu Christmas party for the train passengers, all dressed in various H&M Christmas Collection outfits! The panning camera goes from passenger to passenger–one reading a vintage copy of Agatha Christie’s, Murder on the Orient Express–to the child, who clearly needs a sign to display in Anderson fashion that he’s an Unaccompanied Minor(s), both tell of stories that take place on Christmas.
Also, what exactly is a Wes Anderson film without a supply list? Scissors, construction paper, aluminum foil, an extension cord, and what I assume can only be a Christmas tree. That’s all Conductor Ralph needs to assemble a Christmas these passengers won’t forget. I know I won’t.
