CAN’T HARDY WAIT

I am going to share something with you that I am in no way embarrassed about. I love Tom Hardy.

I want to be clear here, I LOVE that man. I follow at least four Tom Hardy fan accounts on Instagram, one of which is just pictures of Tom Hardy holding dogs. I dressed up as Bane and Mad Max for two separate Halloween parties one year, and when my weight lifting coach asked me to write my goal for the year on the whiteboard, I wrote “Look like Tom Hardy.” So yeah… I am pretty hard. Hardcore! I meant hardcore!

That being said, Hardy’s new FX project, Taboo, looks pretty awesome. A teaser trailer for Taboo was originally released in February and was brought to my attention by a friend whose love for Tom is as strong as mine, though it is a little different since she is a woman and everything.

FX just released four new TV spots for the upcoming project. Check them out below:

So, what exactly is Taboo about? Here’s the official synopsis.

Set in 1814, the series follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), an adventurer who returns to London from Africa long after he’s believed to be dead. He wishes to inherit his father’s shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself only to discover the true nature of the legacy left behind. Soon, Delaney finds himself in a face-off against the all-powerful East India Company, while caught in the middle of two warring countries, Britain and the United States.

Besides his strong acting pedigree, Hardy also had a hand in creating it along with his father and Steven Knight who created Peaky Blinders and wrote and directed Locke which is by far Tom Hardy’s best performance to date.

Taboo will premiere on FX Tuesday January 10th. Be sure to check out our first impressions right after!
