DISNEY CONFIRMS LIVE-ACTION MULAN
Did I hear someone ask for a miracle?
The ancestors have answered our prayers as Disney is getting down to business with a live-action remake of Mulan. The studio purchased a script back in March 2015, which has been rewritten to become a combination of the classic Chinese story and the 1998 animated film. The original animated film featured Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) voicing Mulan and the infamous dragon sidekick, Mushu, voiced by Eddie Murphy. The casting search is on to find a Chinese actress to fulfill the heroic role. It will be interesting to see how Mushu will be portrayed and if our favorite songs will make it into the live-action film.
With the success of The Jungle Book and the overwhelming anticipation for the new Beauty and the Beast, Disney is cashing in with an entire line-up of live-action remakes including the newly announced The Lion King, Cruella and Tink. Mark your calendars, as Mulan is set to hit theaters on November 2nd, 2018.
